Quarter 2-Week 2: Graphic Organizer

Image
In order to prepare for the sample exam, we were asked to create a graphic organizer with information from all the main topics that we have covered so far. This includes sound, editing, film techniques, and mode-en-scene. I chose to split each category into its own section and then create separate graphic organizers for each category.  Here is my graphic organizer.

Quarter 2: Week 1-Mise-en-Scene

I chose to do this post based off of an episode of New Girl. First, you can notice the setting. Since the show is about four roommates in their thirties living in LA, the show takes place in two main places: the apartment/loft and a bar. While they do visit other places, this is where the majority of the show is filmed. This video now includes examples of a sound bridge, a voice over, post-synchronization dubbing, and music.  1. Sound Bridge- There are multiple examples of a sound bridge in the video, but the most obvious one is the use of the acoustic guitar between each shot. We used this music to help bring the video together. By including this music between each shot, the video becomes a fluid structure rather than simply a collection of other shots.  2. Music- We used two very different sounds to emphasize the contrast between the two scenes. The music when Mickey is drinking coffee is from the song "Smells Like Teen Spirit," and the energy and chaos that it brings with it matches the energy that one might feel from drinking coffee. ...
